Sassari is the second town in Sardinia, an important business centre. That town has an interesting historical centre, and many beautiful churches, such as the famous Santa Maria Church, where "candareri" are kept: candareri are some big machines that on 14 th august parade during "festa manna" with the representatives of the old corporations.

Another church to be visited is the marvellous St. Nicola Cathedral, recently opened after an accurate restoration. In the town centre you can find the Stand of Sardinian Handicrafts that often organises interesting exhibitions, and also the Sanna Archaelogiac Museum which keeps a lot of collections
